The Skyline of Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur

It's a peaceful second night at Kuala Lumpur. After our dinner at Damansara Village, we went back to the Condo and rest.

I just like to share some photos I took in the morning...

To the South Direction

I was standing at the balcony of 18th floor, and I can't resist to took out my camera to capture the beautiful scene over the Jalan Ipoh of Kuala Lumpur.

The beautiful Batu Cave was on my South west direction.....

Honestly I haven't put my step on the Batu Cave, definitely will do it one day...

There's army camp on my left (West)

I'm satisfied with the 'Zoom' of my camera...

I believe there's LRT Station under construction between the Army Camp & Jalan Ipoh

Then I captured this scene...where the cars disappear from the photo but the lights remain...

Steamboat Dinner at Damansara Village, Petaling Jaya

After about 2-3 hours walking at the Mid Valley Shopping Mall, that really make us feel hungry....and no time wasting, we looking for our dinner....

Lau is really a good food lover, he brought us to this Damansara Village (N3°07.445' E101°36.777') which is located at Pertaling Jaya for Steamboat Dinner.

The place was decorated like a village in the city! They even have a small Zoo for customers to walk around. Well decoration and friendly staffs.

On the left of the entrance - small pond for children to catch fish...

Relax and enjoy your dinner at the village...

We were the first customer when reached the restaurant, it was around 5:30pm. We chose the table which is near to the end, for better view. The Restaurant provided live seafood here.

The tortoises at the end. I believe it's for decoration purpose...

The press media report. I felt that most of the famous restaurants at KL area like to put the Celebrity photos on the wall for public awareness!

Our order :-

Everybody were hungry after seeing all this seafoods being serve...

Then.....we wait....

The steamboat was serve with a home recipe herbal soup. Very tasty! All of us Love it very much! We took almost 2 hours to finish the dinner, and make my tummy 1 inch wider! Haha!

If you like to taste the Steamboat in the village, please go early. As you can the customers come in non-stop about 7pm during the weekend. My humble advise...

The restaurant was full around 7pm

We took the Set Dinner package. The damage was less than MYR150.00 for 4 adults and 2 children. (Inclusive drinks and 2 bottles of Carlsberg)
Otherwise is MYR18.80 per person as stated.

Christmas atmosphere at Mid Valley Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur

2nd Day at Kuala Lumpur
Breakfast at this coffee shop (N3°12.690' E101°37.965') (I forgot the name), baked bread and nice coffee..... The shop is located at the Taman Kepong Baru. (The bread and the foods were really good)
After the breakfast, we continue our journey to Mid Valley Shopping Mall (N3°07.047' E101°40.673')

My purposes here are :-
* ACE Hardware
* Enjoy the Christmas atmosphere
* Let the women do their shopping
* Let the kids happy!

I went in to the ACE Hardware shop for almost an hour. I really love it, too bad the JB branch was close down long time ago.....

This mall is huge enough until I can't find the direction of the North, South, East and West Wing. I gotta stand in the middle of the mall and look at my compass (from my Casio watch) to decide which way is the correct wing! Haha! Because you will only know when you reach the end of the wing! Maybe there's the indication signage that I didn't noticed.....

The mall even so big, but you can't easily spot a chair for you to sit on....peoples are so packed on that day (8th Dec 2008). It was a National Public Holiday.

The atmosphere here was very nice! Christmas trees are every corner you walk pass....unlike JB, only ONE 10 foot Christmas tree at the main entrance.....

I would like share with you that some photos I taken inside the mall.....

Supper at Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur

After our dinner, we had a city tour around KL City.
Twin Tower was always visible to us during the tour....actually we were searching for one Nasi Lemak Stall around KL City. Lau said, you can enjoy your delicious nasi lemak and admiring the Twin Tower night view at the same time. What a perfect location!
After about 30 minutes round and round at the city, we finally found it! Which is actually hiding at the corner of 'Sultan Sulaiman Sports Club'. The stall named 'Nasi Lemak Kg Baru' (N3°09.747' E101°42.082'). (You can easily find it from the GPS map of malfreemaps)

Until we felt wanna have some light foods for supper, we proceed again to Kepong to this stall (N3°12.514' E101°38.752') which situated along Jalan Kepong Baru. The name of the stall is 'Kei Tak Xet' (in cantonese) which mean 'Remember to eat'. Haha! What a unique name!
The only problem getting here is.....parking problem.

The area was full when we arrived....(around 11pm)

Stuffed Crab. This was the first time I tasted it even I've been heard it for so long......

The foods were good! Even it's not perfect but it's just delicious to fill up your stomach. I felt the foods sell here are more like a Taiwan foods.....

With a few cans of Beer, we end our first day at Kuala Lumpur.....

Mei Gai Hup Restaurant, Kepong - KL

We having a holiday trip to Kuala Lumpur (The Capital of Malaysia) on 7th - 9th Dec 2008.

Mr Lau Kee Sern (nephew) who is a kind enough to offer us to stay at his condo (Villa Angsana - N3°11.590' E101°41.080') for 2 days. Thanks and appreciated!

We reached KL around evening 6-7pm. After settle everything at Villa Angsana, we continue to hunt for our dinner. Thanks to Mrs Lau who suggested this Restaurant that serve a Special Pork Rib that we never have it before....

After 10 minutes drive, we finally see this restaurant. It's located at Jalan Ambong 7 at Kepong, Kuala Lumpur.

Mei Gai Hup Restaurant (N3°12.610' E101°38.807')

Their business is so good till they open another new branch just 2 shops away.....but we decided to take the old shop which is more original. (I think...haha!)

The restaurant was packed when we were there (around 8pm).

Our order :-
1. Steam Vege
2. Hot plate Tou-fu
3. Salty Egg Squids (So-tong)
4. Marinated Pork Rib (Signature Dish)


This was the First time we tasted this Salty Egg Squids. It was delicious!


And this is what we came for - Well cook "Pork Rib" ("Siu-How-Kuat" in cantonese). It's also the Signature Dish of the Restaurant.

It's took 24 hours for the process before it serve on your table!

The restaurant had been interviewed by the media.

The Pork Rib was Marvellous!!! It's was so tasty until you wanna order another plate, but too bad all of us were so full in the stomach. I Strongly recommend this dish if you haven't try it! You will never regret!

The damage : MYR42.00 included drinks (For 3 adults and 2 children), cheap? :)

The reason is the small area....

I noticed they sell really cheap beer compare with Johor Bahru area.....
The Tiger Beer only MYR12.00 per bottle! Great!

Seafood Restaurant Hong Guan, Taman Permas Jaya - Johor Bahru

Seafood Restaurant Hong Guan (N1°29.998' E103°49.180') which is located at the corner of Jalan Permas 7 and Jalan Permas 9/5 of Taman Permas Jaya, Johor Bahru.

The restaurant is clean and tidy.

This is the restaurant we visit very often! Most of the dishes from here are taste above average, especially the 'Crab'. There are many type of Crab serve by the restaurant, the "Seremban Marmite Crab" is our big time favorites!!

I just had our dinner here few days ago, with my family.....

Our order for the night :-
1) Slice Fish cook with ginger and vege.
2) Hot Plate Tau-fu with egg.
3) Steam Prawn with ginger wine.
4) Crab mixed with salted egg.




The dishes 1 & 2 were better than average, but dishes 3 & 4 were marvellous!! The prawns and crabs were really in big size! (As you can refer from the pictures above)

The dinner was very delicious and enjoyable!!

Total damage was : MYR110.00 with drinks. (For 4 adults and one child)
Salted Egg Crab : MYR38.00
Steam Prawn : MYR30.00

The crab & prawn here have 3 different type of prices, that will depending on the size A, B or C.
Business hour of the seafood restaurant is 5pm to 2am. They close on Thursday two weeks once.

I will strongly recommend this Seafood Restaurant! The only disadvantage is.....not close to the sea.....
