Authentic Hainanese Dishes at Hainan Association, Malacca (Melaka)

After visiting the Cheng Ho Cultural Museum, our next destination was Hainan Association (N2.197499 E102.245662) along Jonker Street, Malacca. There will be many Hainanese dishes presented by the Friendly Hainan women from the association.
The session was arranged in the air-conditional hall on the first floor of the building. The dishes were nicely arranged on the table when we stepped in...

That was the session we can probe our questions to the ladies for the foods knowledge. I was busy taking photos of everythings on the table...
Let's start from the Hainanese snacks...

I like the sesame rice ball very much during my childhood, but didn't expect it was one of the Hainanese snacks...

Hainanese Steamed chicken (文昌鸡)

This type of chicken is very common nowadays whenever you order chicken rice at everywhere between Malaysia and Singapore. For Hainanese, chicken will be the main course for every event or occassion. My another childhood favorite, even now...

The dish I forgot the name of it...stir freid vege with prawns...

Chicken rice ball

Of course you will see the Malacca chicken rice ball which is Very Famous in whole Malaysia. The history I read was originated from the 'Tan Hoe Kee' family - Muar, many decades ago...yet to find out the true...some said, all the shops selling Hainanese Chicken rice ball in Malacca now are the grandson or relatives from the Tan family...

When the Hainanese cuisine presented on the table, the bloggers were busy snapping photos...
