Bkt Gambir - 100 Years old village at Muar, Johor

Location map of Bukit Gambir, Muar.

The main road of Bukit Gambir, Muar.

Bukit Gambir (N2°12.723' E102°39.194') is a small old town located about 25KM from north of Muar town. This small town has about 100 years history that pass through during the Second (2nd) World War, therefore it make you feel likes walk in to the Time Machine. Most of the houses which erected here are from 80 years ago (or more) until today.

I love this house very much!

The transformation of the shops & houses

The main road started from Sungai Mati (Death River) at the junction to Muar and Tangkak stretch until Gerisik Village. It's passing through many small villages by the name of Serom 1 to 9. During the 2nd World War, all this villages are using boats as a transport sail through the small river from one to another.....

According to the locals, the road transportation was built only in the late 40's. And Bkt. Gambir is the biggest village among others within the same road. It has Post office, Police station, shopping complex (rather small), wet market, schools, convenience store & etc.....

The second biggest village is Kampung Serom 3. Many senior peoples like to hanging around in the coffee shop along the main road.

A famous grocery shop (Kedai Runcit) at Parit Zing

The New College almost complete at Serom 5

Traditional Chicken Farm spotted

Kid 1 : "Why our playground so dirty?"
Kid 2 : "Nobody want to maintain anymore!"
Kid 3 : "Let's go somewhere else! It's so dirty here!"

Special tree spotted along the main road

Sunset of Serom 4

I recall someone said this : "A return to nostalgia is in order to whip up unity."

Village Life at Bkt. Gambir, Muar Johor

After you experienced a stressful & hectic urban city life, you might wanna try to escape from it. I'm usually escape myself out of the town to my In-Law's house which is located at Bkt. Gambir, Muar.

Over here, I found everything so peaceful and calm......I feel different and better fresh air in the morning. Visiting this small old town's coffee shop is another enjoyment for me.

The surrounding of the house is planted with different fruits. Also there's a mini chicken farm in the compound.

I love to walk around after breakfast. The song of the birds & flowers make you joyful and the concert by the chicken & hen around make you happy! You will be trouble free at that moment when you mix with all of them!
Let me share some photos here.......

I will be waiting for this........

Cocoa. Their family members planted this to generate some small revenue, after harvest and process, they sell it to make living.

The two lonely turtles in the world.

Gotcha!! Finally I manage to stand on it!!

The traditional store room. You can see it in every house during 60's & 70's.

Do you remember this? Do you know what is this?

Another store room

It's a horrible night!

Malaysia going raise the petrol price from MYR1.92 per liter to MYR2.70 after midnight. By increasing MYR0.78 per liter. (The news was confirmed on 5:59pm, The STAR)

Along the way back home, messy traffic jam everywhere cos of the long queue at every petrol stations....

Everyone was rushing to pump up petrol at the petrol station before midnight! I saw many unexplained situations.....some of them use the 'stone age' ways to filled up until it spilled out! Some drivers had quarrel between of theirs car scratches! Every car won't follow the queuing system anymore!

Can you believe this?! Just because of you can save merely less than a hundred ringgit of petrol tonight? Everyone seems like once they be able to pump tonight, they can save forever! They had lost their mind! This is really an UNACCEPTABLE situations I ever see in my life!

I was almost have a quarrel with a guy while queuing and it's just about cutting queue!
My bad! Because of my curiosity! I am apologize if you are reading this.....

IT'S NOT WORTH IT AT ALL JUST BECAUSE WE CAN SAVE LESS THAN A HUNDRED RINGGIT by tonight!! I feel sorry about it.
I am suppose to snap some photos and get out of the messy situation, but end up......I'm tired of this when I saw the true humanities!

I am posting this (PDA) from a coffee shop not far away from the petrol station. Watching the live show! I don't know......am l suppose to enjoy it or I should feel sad about it. Someone PLEASE enlighten me!

BECOME HISTORY AFTER TONIGHT! 1.92....I miss you!

Perling Mall, Johor Bahru

Perling Mall (N1°29.826' E103°40.880') located at the entrance of the Taman Perling residential area. It's not a huge or fancy mall to talk about, but.....it's the only antique design (attract me very much) of the every units in the shopping arcade.
It's bring you back to 1960's where Johor Bahru about.

The first floor session is quite empty maybe due to the Huge Shopping Mall surround this area....or because of the economy slow down?.....

They follow the architecture exactly what Johor Bahru looks like during the 60's & 70's.

It's actually a small shopping complex but quite crowded maybe I visited it during th weekend. Even the parking was more than 60% full of that night.
